1. Physical & Chemical Properties:

  • Color: Sparkling white
  • Form: Granulated, crystalline, or powdered
  • Taste: Pure sweet, free from foreign taste or odor
  • Moisture Content: ≤ 0.05%
  • Sucrose Content: ≥ 99.8%
  • Ash Content: ≤ 0.04%
  • Polarization: ≥ 99.8°
  • Solubility: 100% in water
  • Reducing Sugar (as Invert Sugar): ≤ 0.05%
  • ICUMSA (Color Units): 45 – 150 (Higher ICUMSA = less refined)

2. Types of Refined Sugar:

  • ICUMSA 45 – Highest quality, pure white, used in food & beverages
  • ICUMSA 100-150 – Slightly less refined, used in confectionery & bakery

3. Granulation Sizes:

  • Fine Sugar: 0.2mm – 0.5mm (for baking & quick dissolving)
  • Coarse Sugar: 0.5mm – 2mm (for general use)
  • Powdered/Icing Sugar: Finely ground for confectionery use
